Couple Drives 18 Hours to Adopt Rescued Boston Terrier

Boston Terrier - Aeden - Willie - editedTrue love knows no limits. That was especially true for Judy Cameron and Bud Allen who made an 18 hour trek from Indiana back to their Central Florida winter home when they found out about Aedan, now named Willie. The Allens had searched for a Boston Terrier, but after hearing about his story, they knew this was “the one.”

Willie (Aedan) Adoption 25298170 (04.25.15)Willie had been found lying on the side of the road, filthy and crusted with dirt. The five-year-old purebred Boston Terrier was so emaciated he didn’t even have the strength to get up. Thankfully a good Samaritan brought him to SPCA Florida where he immediately received nutritious food, and was tested for heartworm and other parasites. You could count every rib and bone on his back so Willie was placed in foster care for two weeks where he had time to grow healthy. Less than a month after his luck first changed for the better, Willie received the greatest gift of all—a couple who was so committed to adding him to their family, they drove through the night to meet him.

Happy “tails” like Willie’s are made possible by the community and our compassionate foster care families. On behalf of all the pets whose life are drastically improved because of you, thank you!
