A Happy Ending 170 Miles in the Making

West Palm Beach Transfer Doc 27942779 - Michell, Sondra, DocPOSTED - DocWhen one of SPCA Florida’s favorite dog trainers, Aimee Saddler of Playing for Life! called with a special request, staff members did not let mileage or time stand in the way of making a happy ending come true. That dedication is what set 4-year-old Doc on the path from abandoned Bull Dog to fur-ever happiness.

Unfortunately Doc’s guardian was incarcerated and could no longer care for her, leaving her stranded for months at Island Animal Hospital in West Palm Beach. While Island staff took great care of the energetic dog, they knew it wasn’t the ideal situation. This happy-go-lucky gal needed a permanent home. Following Aimee’s call, SPCA Florida Safety Net Manager Connie Johnson and Adoption Center Manager Michelle Williams worked to arrange SPCA Florida transportation. Three hours and 170 miles later Doc received a clean bill of health and days later she became the cherished companion of the Gaffneys.
