Amvets posterRudy Connor is fondly remembered by his friends as “a very kind hearted person” who loved animals. On his birthday the only present the Korean War Army veteran wanted was for people to donate dog and cat food or money to help SPCA Florida’s homeless pets.

Since Rudy passed away a few years ago, members of the AMVETS Post 32 on E. Gary Road have honored his memory by continuing to collect food, blankets, and other donations for our homeless cats and dogs. Last year, the group’s effort brought in more than 1,000 pounds of pet food and over $500. SPCA Florida is very grateful for people like Rudy and his friends who have a heart for animals.
